The Quintero Panetelas is a strong, full-bodied cigar rolled by hand from shortcut Cuban tobacco from the Vuelta Abajo region. The cigar is in the smaller panetelas format and is 5” long with a narrower ring gauge of 36. Despite its smaller size, this cigar develops all the rich flavors connoisseurs of Cuban cigars have come to expect.
The cold draw is complex, with sweet tobacco scents and a light hint of coconut. The first third of the cigar is woody, with base notes of earth and a hint of the sourdough flavor that Vuelta Abajo tobacco is known for. The retrohale tastes of molasses, with a twang of dark rum. The second third develops citrus flavors and adds natural sweetness to the woody flavor. The final third brings on the full strength but with pleasant notes of white pepper and spice.
This stick is tailor-made to enjoy over a shot of espresso because the flavors are a perfect match.
