The Partagas Petit Coronas Especiales is one of the storied brand’s strongest cigars. This cigar is full-bodied from the first draw and has dark, complex flavors. The cigar comes in the Petit Corona format, known in Cuba as Eminente. It is 5.2” long with a ring gauge of 44. The wrapper is slightly veiny, with an oily appearance and a rich dark brown color. This cigar is hand-rolled from the finest Cuban tobacco.
This cigar impresses from the beginning. The cold draw is savory, with a hint of leather around the foot. The first third tastes of rich cedar with hints of chocolate and caramel, pulled together by a hint of peppery spice. The second third adds a vanilla leather taste and builds in intensity. The final third rounds out the flavors with a stronger toasted tobacco flavor with the ever-present pepper top note.
This full-bodied cigar is excellent with coffee as a digestif after a meal.
